| Biography |
Emphasis is a progressive metal act from Estonia formed in year 2010. At the very beginning it was only three members: Pavel (guitar), Katya (bass) and Vsevolod (keyboards). In November 2010, Sergei assumed the role of drummer and band started to work on their debut album. At the same time Emphasis remained focused in an attempt to hire a singer. This process was really hard and took forever. Anet was in the running for the vacant front-woman spot in May 2011. Known as a member of Estonian old-school art rock band Mahavok she recorded some successful demos and joined the band immediately. The first single "Death Itself" was released in December 2011.
After the first live members of Emphasis made the decision to take second full-time guitarist. Max joined the band at the beginning of the year 2012.
Music of Emphasis is synthesis of powerful classical harmonies, expressive heavy guitar riffs, unique rhytmic traditions and delicate melodic sequences. |
