Hailing from Estonia EAST TRADING WANG raise strange feelings reading the title of their latest record Employees Of The Year; that reminds me of “decorations” like “best apprentice of the month” or “best shop assistant” awarded in the daily monotony of life in the former GDR. That isn’t that far since the GDR adopted this system from its big communistic brother. Anyway, these four Estonian gents cynically picked up this slogan to play their own frustration off their souls, including existential worries, war and interpersonal disasters.
And what could be better than anarchic punk to express these angry feelings? But EAST TRADING WANG go a bit further, adding alternative (Grunge) tunes and some Hardcore-related attitudes to their material. So they created 10 tracks, idiosyncratic, short, precise on the point and aggressive, hitting the pulse of the age. Perfect background to get rid of your own frustration …
